I’m a cheerleader and my jumps are okay but i want them to be perfect. What muscles do i need to make stonger so i go higher. And if you have any additional tips for making my jumps higher they’d be greatly appeciated.

hi. im a cheerleader as well =]
you need to work on your abs. much much important. most people think its the legs. nope. abs
some moves to help
v- up
lie all the way back. arms flat over the head, legs flat on the ground keeping the abs tight, move your legs into a toe touch position and bring your arms to your legs. 10 reps 3 sets
pike up
almost the same but you bring your legs and arms into a pike positon above your torso. this really hurts
partner push.
you lay on the ground hands at your side and legs at a 90 degree angle. your partner stands over your face and you grab her ankles. she tries to push your legs to the ground, and you cant let your legs touch.
nameless really sore maker
tehe i dont know what to call this. lay on the ground arms at your side. bring your feet barly off the ground. hold as long as you can. our coach makes us sing the school song
for hight
have a partner stand behind you and hold your waist. when you jump they lift you to make you higher
find a counter, table etc.hold on and push your weight as you jump. helps toe touches.
hope they help!
you would to strengthen your calf muscles…to do that u should run , swim and ride bikes alot.
The prime movers for jumping are the quadriceps and the calves, but you need to work on your torso as well.
Lifting weights, and doing plyometric drills will help you gain the most explosive muscular action for jumping.
