jogging is an excellent exercise because it let you lose weight
evenly throughout your whole body. If you want to lose weight in
specific areas, you should target them with exercises. If they are
your problem areas, they will be very difficult to tone. You will have
to work double on them. The best approach is this:
    1. Lower/control your daily calorie intake (control for normal
    weight, lower for overweight).
    2. Run/jog to lower your overall body fat percentage.
    3. Target your problem areas with exercises.
an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,
for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure
that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you
will damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your
body back, until it’s parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and
move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add
to the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week,
guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat – if you have any – six
pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these
crunches – I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT
ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

Sit ups and crunches. Do as many as you can but don’t over do it, make sure you are contracting you core muscles in both. Also breath out when you come up so your not building out. Increase the amount you are doing as you feel its easier to do it.

You should see results i did.

Best ab exercise I have ever done (and continue to do) is called AB RIPPER X. You can find it for free in 2 parts on youtube. It’s 16 minutes of pure brutality. :-) He’ll provide you with the reps and sets on the video. Just follow along as best you can.

Look up ab exercises online. There are various standing and lying down crunches you can do (not situps, they don’t work the correct muscles).

Also there are various ab workouts available on video and DVD and even youtube. I really like Tony Horton’s Ab Ripper X (part of the P90X workout program).

Do your ab workout every other day to get those abs in shape. If you have any fat over your stomach, you’ll need to be doing cardio workouts as well, to burn that off or you won’t be able to see those ab muscles once you build them up.

    Good luck!

For definition of abs your going to take to get your body fat lower. For this your going to have to lose weight, whether it be through running or weight lifting or dieting. Preferably a combo of all three.
Although doing ab exercises at this point will do little for the actually appearance of your abs still focus on them, they make up your core!
