Male or female? I’m a guy and I lift weights and do abwork 3x a week, and cardio atleast 4x a week. I’m not really on a "diet" but i cleaned up what I eat: high protein, and no cookies, chips, candy, and basically all I drink is water- no soda. No offense to the person above me, but I allways stay away from the pills and protein shakes
i’m a middle/long distance runner, i eat about 4000 calories a day including all sort of junk, but i run 6 to 8 miles a day, i have abs
I wish I knew…. I’m right there. In shape. Just got this layer of fat over my abs I just can’t seem to get rid of.
Many sources say…. Low carbs. No "white" foods except for protein. No sugar. Etc.
Some say…. Carve with carbs. (It’s a matter of lowering carb intake and timing consumption of carbs right.)
And one source says…. A balanced diet that creates a caloric deficit. (He even says his post workout drink is a soda.) But that it’s a matter of burning more calories than you consume.
I’ve tried variations, upped my cardio/intervals intensity, changed workouts to different formats. (I have not gone to the extreme of a diet of nothing but fish, brocholli and water.) And I can lose weight (I’m closing in on 40 and I’m at high school weight), but not without losing muscle mass. I just cannot seem to carve those abs the way I want. I have the amount of muscle mass I want now. Just can’t seem to "sculpt" that midsection.
So, hopefully you’ll get an answer I can use too.
