I read that in order to have a six pack you must have less than 8% body fat. So, if I have less than 8% body fat, but no muscle, will I have a six pack? Is a six pack actually muscle, or is just some natural definition in us that is just usually covered by fat?

I’m a male. I want to get abs. Now there is a huge problem- I have been doing every exercise you see on youtube videos, and I have been doing around 50 reps a day, sometimes up to 100, working my ass off to get abs and never get any results. My diet is exactly as it should be, and I can get any other muscles on my body built anytime I want successfully Abdominals are the only muscles ive never been able to build. No matter how hard I try, I cannot manage to do the "vaccum" thing, where you suck in your belly and do crunches. thats the only thing I cannot do because as soon as I begin to curl up my belly will inflate again, even if I exhale all the air and press as hard as I can to where my entire body turns red and I begin trembling all over. Seriously what am I doing wrong? Ive read everything there is to read, Ive tried everything there is to try. My older brother is a fitness trainer and we still cannot figure it out. Oh and I’m actually a very thin guy too, and as ive said I am well build and have very toned & defined muscles all over my body except abs.

Alright, every day I do 200 sit ups in the morning, and 200 at night. I cross my arms, have a small pillow to rest my head on, and go all the way up with 4 pound weight on my stomach. I’m working on abs now, after I figured out that you need cardio to drop the fat along with ab exercises to actually show the muscle. I’m not fat at all so I don’t have much fat to use. My first day of exercise, I ran on a treadmill for 25 minutes, did 25 reps on 2 ab machines, and did 50 crunches when I got home.
The next morning my stomach felt extremelyyy tight, and it hurt. I could clearly feel the outlines of where my abs would be. I failed to exercise the next two days, but it STILL felt like that first day..very tight, although it doesn’t hurt as much. So I was wondering, once you get really noticeable abs, how long does it take for it to stop hurting?

I go to the gym almost everyday of the week. (during summer, / 4-5 days during school cause of soccer) i’ve been going since october of 09.
I’ve done every program on the elliptical. (put the resistance up too)
I play soccer, and i have since january of this year.
Now i run on the treadmill for 22 1/2 minutes at a speed of 7.2
I then use the arm machines for a little bit, and then i go back on the treadmill for another 10 minutes at the same speed and sometimes i’ll go a little higher.
I’ve used weights before, but i’m not exactly sure what exercises i’m supposed to do to get abs.
I don’t want big six pack abs, but a nice toned stomach.

I never do ab exercise, except like 5 times in a year. But when I’ll do some crunches you can see my abs really good. I’m just wondering if I start doing crunches everyday, how long would it take me to get a six pack?

Hi, Im Brian. Im 16 years old, attending high school and was seeking some advice on how to get some abs. Im 5.9 145 Ibs. I have a barely visible set of abs, as in I have to flex them and get the right light ratio to even see them there. Here is a basic day, as far as eating and exercise.
BREAKFEST
Usually saltine crackers, ritzbits, crackers in general
LUNCH
I get school lunch often (3-4 times a week)
DINNER
I eat a fruit/vegetable, piece of whole wheat bread, and whatever dinner might be, I dont eat until im stuffed though.
EXERCISE
I ride my bike casually (slowly) 1.5 miles apprx. to school every morning
I also drink a ton of milk, rarely soda, little water (maybe a few sips at school)

Im 16 years old. i am about 6 foot 165lbs. i am on an extremely healthy diet. I know that spot reduction is bologna, bogus. I do cardio such as jump rope ,running, and bicycle riding everyday. How can i lose the lower stomach body fat?
I go to the gym three times a week and i do 2 1/2hrs training of Aikido a week. i have given up smoking, i eat fruit and veg, i dont eat crisps or chocolate. i cycle two miles everyday (Mon – Fri) i just do not seem to be able to lose the tummy fat.

Hi all!!!
Im on a mission to become a fit machine!!!! About a month ago i was 14 st 2 lbs, now im 12 st 11 lbs. This is through going to the gym about 3 times a week and losing 1000 calories each time on a treadmill. My stomach doesnt seem to be any slimmer though and its getting on my nerves. Something is working as ive lost all that weight quite fast, but will the same method of exercise eventually lose me my belly!!!
