Question by nysnsmuth: How can I get well defined six pack abs?
I already have a flat stomach and when I flex my abs, I can see an outline of a six pack, but how can I have a very well defined six pack, one that will show with out flexing at all? What should I be eating and what exercises should I be doing (I already do tons of crunches and run 4 miles a day) to obtain my six pack goal?

    Question: I’ve been told before that you should let your muscles recover for a couple of days before repeating an exercise, but you see to suggest that this kind of workout is better everyday. Can you explain?

    @MikeEves1 he doesn’t talk about burning stomach fat, he talks about toning your abs. regardless of whether you have fat on top of your abdominals or not this is still good for the muscles. for those of us who don’t have any fat covering the muscles, it definitely improves the tone of a six pack.

    How quickly you see results depends on how much stomach fat you have over your abs. I noticed a two pack the day after I did this workout. Works great for me!

    he said everyday, thats over-training the abs. you need time to heal the abs if they are burning that badly. id say 3x a week is good though

    Its good.I agree with others that you should excercise your whole body .But this is very good for abs,if you need to focus more on abs.I am a fan of this excercise yelkaim1.Some yoga moves are similar too.

    You’re not going to get lean and scultured doing endless cardio. Do circuits and full body exercises. You’ll be stronger too.

    Look at long distance runners and then look at sprinters and gymnasts. I know what I’d rather look like!

    try some leg raises. lie down flat on your back. hands by your side. bend your knees and bring your legs up to your face. bring them back in the original position without letting them touch the ground and repeat them. its strainfull so start with less reps

    do crunches, push ups, id say 100 crunches a day and 30 push ups a day, and lay flat on your back hands to your side, and just lift your legs, do about 10 of those. do this once a day and im almost positive within 3 months you will have those abs

    Seeing as how you’re already almost there, congrats. It’s tough for most people to get even that far.

    Now you sound like a “skinny” type of person so correct me if I’m wrong. What you should do is add another 300-500 calories to your diet as your high metabolism is holding back your muscles development.

    If you’re not a skinny person, forget all that. What you need to do is forget about crunches. Stop doing them all together in fact as crunches are one of the crappiest ab exercises. What you should be doing is adding weight and resistance to your ab routines.

    For instance, the pulley crunch is a great weight exercise.(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nDGiMYmbR0)
    Granted, it’s basically a crunch just in a different position, but it has resistance added to it.

    You need resistance and weight so your abs actually become larger. The other thing you should be doing is doing more exercises to attack every part of your abs. Check out a pretty killer routine to do just that http://rippedbiceps.com/abs-work

    Finally, think outside the box. There’s a program called the truth about six pack abs that details more outside the box exercises. Have you ever thought about doing front squats to build abs? Probably not, but they’re great because they force your ab and core muscles into overdrive as they try to stabilize you.

    I use the routines from http://www.simpleabs.com. They have easy exercises that gave me abs in 3 weeks!!! Their routines change every 60 days!!! They also have upto the minute news feeds on dieting and general health topics which i find useful.
