is it okay to continue abdominal exercises during your period?

and for some reason, every time I start exercising, especially targeting my abdominals, i start my period after the 3 day or so. Is this a coincidence or for some particular reason?

    This all sounds like a coincidence. There’s no reason why you can’t work out any time during your cycle. It’s possible that when you squeeze your stomach muscles that you are also squeezing the walls of your vagina, pushing down any menstral flow that was already slowly building. Ever wear tampons? Think of you taking a poop with your tampon in. If you sqeeze hard and long enough you’ll push your tampon right out. The same thing could happen with menstral flow. On a good exersize note, yoga can actually reduce mentral cramps.
