Hate to break your bubble but there is no easy way to get a 6 pack, your going to have to work at it 3 ways.

First you are going to have to burn off any current extra fat that you have on your body.

The best was is through a good cardio workout 5 times a week. Good workouts raise your heart rate, make you sweat, burn off fat and get you winded.

Some good ones are brisk walking, swimming, racquetball, kick boxing and my favorite TaeBo ( I like TaeBo Amped the best). Your cardio workout should last for at least 30minutes and unlike other type of exercises you can’t break it down to 5 minutes here or there is had to be 30 minutes at one time. If you can do 45 minutes, that’s even better.

The you have to change your diet so that you don’t add any additional fat to your body.

Stay away from suggary and fatty processed foods. You know cakes, cookies, high fat ice cream, energy drinks and soda (even diet soda).

Change from white breads and pasta to only products marked with 100% whole grains on the label. These will fill you up longer and the fiber will slow down absorption of sugar and fat.

Have large green salads with either no dressing or use one of the new spray on ones. The spray on one are great. They give you a lot of flavor yet very little calories or fat. Also don’t add any cheese or croutons to your salad. Also don’t get your salads from fast food restaurants. Although they sound healthy and low calorie that are packed with add ins that really pack on the fat and calories.

Eat tons of veggies. Veggies are low calorie and usually have no or very little fat. These will fill you up, add fiber to your diet and are extremely nutritious. Eat your veggies both cooked and raw so that it gives you more variety in your diet and they will also give you different nutrients.

When ever you have dairy products choose the low fat or better yet non-fat. There are excellent cheeses out there now that have 0 fat and 0 sugar, just be sure to read the product label (yes, you are going to have to learn to read product labels).

If you see a low fat or low sugar product in the store read the label before you buy, Some low fat foods are filled with sugar and some low sugar or sugar free foods have mega fat calories.

If you eat meat only chose meat where you can cut off any visible fat. If it’s ground meat choose one that says 98% fat free. If you don’t eat meat but do drink whey protein choose one that is low in sugar and fat. Some will surprise you and have as much sugar as soda.

Now for ab targeting exercises to get your muscles tight and toned.
Instead of standard crunches try reverse crunches and long arm weighted crunches.

If you are short on time the cross-over alternating bicycle crunch will give you the best results for the time used.

This is where you lie down on your back, then try to reach your left elbow over to your right knee and then your right elbow to your left knee. This works most of your ab muscles and will help give you a defined mid-section.

Start at 25 reps, 3 sets, then work up to 50 reps, 3 sets. One rep is when you have completed both the left and right elbow, don’t count each elbow move as 1 rep. Also called crunch side bend combo.

Add in 25 reps of the single knee crunch, 25 straight leg cycling crunch, 10 double crunches with a cross over and 20 flutter kicks and you will see amazing results.

A 6 pack isn’t hard to get, it just takes a bit cardio, some dieting and 20 minutes of targeted exercises.

If you follow the above you should start seeing some results in 2 weeks. After 30 days your mid section will be very defined and after 45 you should be looking super hot!

I just ran and did crunches. Do a sport. Eat healthy. But you’ll have to work your lower abs, heres how i do it. Lay with your back on the floor and have someone stand over you so you can grab their legs. grab their legs and lift your legs up to a 90 degree angle then have them push your feet away from them. Before your feet hit the floor stop them in the air and pull them back up to the 90 degree agle. start at 30 reps and work your way up. i do around 60-70 of them twice a day. Its a hard routine.

  • Dr. Edward W. L. Chambers says:

Getting 6 pack abs requires 90% healthy dieting and 10% exercising. You may be able to do 1,000 crunches but, even so, you will not get that envious midsection. You must eat healthy. Cut out the high sugar products and keep your calories regulated. Many people say that eating foods with fat is bad, but recent studies have suggested that eating high fat "healthy" foods like nuts (almonds, pecans, and peanuts) are extremely helpful in toning your abdominal tract. Leave out the trans fat though, because this type of fat is less likely to be broken down from the natural process of metabolism, which means that it will become an extra "layer" of fat for your midsection. Eat fiber rich foods like natural greens and drink lots of water. Also, having an egg for breakfast a day (without the yoke) is also helpful in toning your abs. Lastly, exercise regularly. You should do strength training before your cardio workout because the energy reserves during the cardio workout have already been spent just by you doing strength training. I hope this helps and good luck!
