I saw your other question, and I’ll answer it here too (No sugar / No Fats) so what the heck should you be eating?
Diet:
Breakfast: Eggwhites (yolks contain the fat) so you can either buy the carton egg-whites or you can sift-yolks in the morning… I suggest the carton. You can add mushrooms/spinach/some diced peppers etc to the mix if you dont like plain eggwhites.
Lunch: A lot of variety here… I suggest chicken or tuna as the main portion. 1/2 cup of almonds/peanuts. Yogurt (without fruit on the bottom). Bag of carrots. Small salad. Cucumber, celery, tomatoes, asparagus…
Dinner: Somebody alraedy mention QUORN – I’m not even sure if we can get that in the USA. It’s like some kind of chemical protein/meat sustitute. But I’d suggest a lean-meat dish with a salad. If you want something else, you can do a mixed greens style side (zucchini/summer squash) and a chicken breast or steak (lean cut) or fish.
Snacks: Perhaps this would be the best time to eat a fruit that’s low on the glycemic index, like an apple (19g sugar/apple). Or a handful of walnuts. Or a bag of veggies.
It’s really hard eating low sugar. Your body takes 2-3 weeks to get used to the low insulin levels. But once you’re there – it’s super easy. Just remember first 3 weeks are hell! You’re hungry all the time, you feel weak, and you get very irritable!
