can you get a six pack using this method?
im trying to get a six pack and i workout 3 or 4 times a week but there is a small layer of fat over my abs. Can i lose this weight by just dieting or would i have to do cardio as well???
p.s i know its best to diet and do cardio but im just wondering!

Well, as you know both diet and exercise is best.
You can lose the fat through dieting alone, but you run the risk of ALSO losing the muscle. In fact, your body will start to burn your muscles before it burns fat, since the muscle is a more concentrated source of energy.
You know those ripped guys and girls on the covers of magazines? The way they achieve that is to go on a short-term diet (like 3-4 days) right before the shoot, so they are slightly dehydrated and their muscles protrude more. After the shoot, they eat and drink normally. Of course, they do have a 6-pack before and after the shoot, but they have to keep exercising to keep the muscles, and they eat more so that they have the energy to exercise.
prob best to do both!
Abs on a girl ! no thanks.
You have to burn that fat no matter what, Where is it gonna go? Cardio is the answer.
Sure, but exercising for abs is eaiser than dieting for them. Cardio helps, but its more just doing ab exercises.
For the record cardio is not necessary, look at body builders, a majority of them ignore cardio and have abs.
I have a small layer of fat too, but I can still see my abs. You should work on your abs everyday. And dieting isn’t too important, just don’t go out of control with the eating; cardio is very important.
Your body creates "fat cells" because of over eating. Dieting helps because you don’t over eat any more, and then the body somewhat dips into the fat cells to absorb it. But cardio and exercise help speed the process, and also create muscle tone. Without the excercise, diet alone will not create a six pack.
