It still might be a little early but ease into them if you start now. Try doing a couple lighter ab exercises to see how you feel. I’m 17 weeks post partum after my second c-section and just started doing my abs last week. I should have started earlier but concentrated on walking/Mt. biking first. Any new exercise I started made me a little sore but that went away after a couple days. Just take it easy and don’t try to do too much too quickly. You should be feeling pretty good in a couple more weeks. Good luck!

you must ask your doctor this, they might say 2 months or more.always ask the doctor first

It’s probably best to check with your doctor.

Always ask your doctor first, my best guess is a couple of months where there are 0 complications and swelling and scarring has decreased. You need to feel completely comfortable moving around and doing the norm before exerting yourself. Complications from to early exercise could be painful. Be sure that when you do start exercising that you begin really simple and you progress slowly.

I started doing it after 2 and a half to three months. My doctor told me to first start with long walks and build your stamina. Then slowly start with 10-15 min on treadmil without elevation. Then you should not start with abdominal exercises until its almost 5 months as I attempted to do so before that but was damn scared. ALso , it pained afterwards. so i just stuck to cross runner, treadmill, cyclying for atleast 2 -3 months. then slowly did my abdominal exercises but frankly even after 9 months i am not very comfortable doing them..I feel slight pain in my stitches after abs.
Though the outer stitches heal quickly, making us feel we are strong enough to do anything but we forget that docs gave us a second incission in the uterus too, which is internal and takes longer to heal. The uterus also takes its time ( atleast 6 months) to contract and regain its original shape.

i would say enjoy the first six months with your kid..for the time is never gonna come back..and you would be as such too exhausted feeding and burping the lil one that you wld hardly hve time for a proper exercise regime. But yes..start those long walks now! they are really helpful. you can think of abdominal exercises later…Good luck
